ACME, o Agrupación de Ciclismo de Montaña Extremo es el nombre de un grupo de ciclistas de la provincia de Tierra del Fuego que desde hace 10 años fomentan la modalidad del downhill en la provincia, más específicamente en la ciudad de Ushuaia. Gracias a su apasionado trabajo, el downhill se afianza cada día más en la juventud fueguina, logrando que en los últimos años varios deportistas locales hayan competido en eventos nacionales e internacionales con muy buenos resultados.
“ACME, Downhill en el Fin del Mundo” es una película documental que narra el esfuerzo de quienes empujan el desarrollo de la disciplina, pero también busca destacar la importancia de este deporte como lugar de encuentro y contención para la juventud local, como así también para crear vínculos con el entorno natural en el cual nuestra comunidad se encuentra inserta.
“ACME, Downhill en el Fin del Mundo” es una producción independiente y será el primer documental sobre downhill de Tierra del Fuego. La idea de esta película, surgida de la mente de David Correa (mecánico y rider de Ushuaia) y Abel Sberna (realizador audiovisual y ciclista aficionado), es visibilizar un deporte que crece día a día en la provincia, la cual tiene todo el potencial para convertirse en un lugar de referencia para el desarrollo de competencias nacionales e internacionales.
ACME, Spanish acronym for Extreme Mountain Biking Association is the name of a group of cyclists from the province of Tierra del Fuego who for 10 years have been promoting downhill riding in the province, more specifically in the city of Ushuaia. Thanks to its passionate work, the downhill is becoming more and more established in the Fuegian youth, achieving that in recent years several local athletes have competed in national and international events with very good results.
"ACME, Downhill at the End of the World" is a documentary film that narrates the efforts of those who push for the development of the discipline, but also seeks to highlight the importance of this sport as a meeting place and contention for local youth, as well as to create links with the natural environment in which our community is inserted.
“ACME, Downhill at the End of the World” is an independent production and will be the first downhill documentary in Tierra del Fuego. The idea of this film, born from the mind of David Correa (mechanic and rider from Ushuaia) and Abel Sberna (audiovisual producer and amateur cyclist), is to make visible a sport that grows day by day in the province, which has all the potential to become a place of reference for the development of national and international tournaments.
